Indoor air quality is increasingly important for contractors to offer. Not only does it grow your average ticket, but it solves more of your customers’ problems and provides them with better peace of mind in the process.

This month on Matt Chatts, Matt and the OPTIMUS team are talking all about the power of bundled offers. You’ll learn how bundling your high-efficiency equipment with IAQ and extended warranty packages will get your customers to a “yes!” faster while giving them exactly what they want – and growing your profits in the process.

Danielle Putnam

President, The New Flat Rate

Danielle Putnam, recognized by The News as The Top 40 Under 40, and Service World Expo as the 2021 Woman of the Year, is President of The New Flat Rate, Advisory Board Member and Past President of Women in HVACR, and is the Executive Director of her non-profit, Family Frameworks.

Danielle has a personal connection with the home service industry. Her first job was passing out flyers door-to-door for her father’s electrical business. She was 7 years old. In high school, she moved up to being an office dispatcher and parts runner. After college, she became the marketing director for an HVAC company in Oregon.

Danielle knows home service, but she is also no stranger to big business. Before co-founding TNFR, she was the director of business development for a large digital services firm, pitching to C-level executives for big name companies. As part of her job, she also stood before multi-million-dollar investors, seeking capital for the publicly-owned company that she worked for.

Danielle is dedicated to help grow the industry she grew up in and loves. As a public speaker, she promotes careers in the home service industry.

When not in the office, she spends time with her husband and three children and enjoys hiking, snowboarding, reading and fine wines.

Matt Koop

Vice President, The New Flat Rate

Matt Koop is the Vice President of The New Flat Rate and coaches small businesses and technicians to reach a 100 percent closing rate in an industry that is satisfied with an average of 68 percent.

Koop’s career in home service began as an HVAC, plumbing, and electrical apprentice as a preteen, allowing him a jumpstart in the industry of skilled trade. Quickly rising in the ranks, he ran his own service truck for over ten years, pulling in annual revenues three to four times the industry average.

Matt is considered an expert in geographically specific training and is now one of the nation’s most highly respected technicians and small business coaches.

Today, you will find him working one-on-one with business owners and managers in online and in-person coaching sessions, helping to streamline daily operations and convert their companies to process-driven machines. Matt occasionally joins techs in the field, doing ride-alongs to help them improve their sales/communication skills across the U.S. and Canada, and hosting multi-day workshops. In 2015, Koop was recognized as one of the “Top 40, Under 40” in Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News.

Despite his business success, Matt considers his four children his greatest accomplishment. He enjoys coaching and watching them play sports when not traveling and training.
