Matt Chatts 'After the Show' | Holding Staff Accountable for Not Offering Financing
After the show, one contractor from Rhode Island asked:
"The current challenge I am facing with financing is accountability."
Host Matthew Bratsis started by saying he would want to discuss this topic every single month if he could, because he constantly tells contractors he meets with that they will receive from their staff based on the expectation they set as a business owner.
"More and more successful contractors hold their people accountable for not offering financing every single time," said Bratsis. "And when they don't offer it, they have to explain why."
When contractors sit down with their employees and interrogate them on why they didn't offer financing, they help to reinforce the importance of financing to closing a sale by creating an opportunity for a business owner to explain that if a customer uses financing, they will close for a higher ticket price on average.
"It has to start from the top," explained Bratsis. "And if there's no repurcussions, then you're going to get 'path of least resistance' because that's what salespeople do. They just want to close the deal and move on to the next one."
'Matt Chatts' is a contractors' best resource for staying informed in the world of contractor financing. All contractors are invited to join Matthew Bratsis, Donna Decoster and their guests to interact and ask questions about the often confusing world of financing in the pursuit of better customer payment solutions.
